These 5 Bad Habits Are Making Your Clutch Wear Out Faster : ☠️

1. Full throttle while riding the friction zone
Giving the bike lots of gas while keeping the clutch partially engaged creates unnecessary clutch slip and heat.

💡Better: Use enough throttle to keep the engine smooth, then release the clutch progressively once you’re moving.

2. Holding the clutch halfway at low speed
Constantly riding with the clutch partially engaged means the clutch is slipping almost the entire time.

💡Better: Once you’re moving steadily, fully release the clutch whenever you don’t need it.

3. Using the clutch to control speed downhill
Some riders pull the clutch in and repeatedly slip it to slow the bike down. This creates unnecessary wear.

💡Better: Use the brakes and appropriate engine braking, while keeping the clutch fully engaged when possible.

4. Holding the clutch in at every stop for too long
Keeping the clutch pulled in for extended periods isn’t ideal for the clutch release system, especially when you could simply select neutral.

💡Better: If you’re going to be stopped for a while, shift into neutral and let the clutch lever out.

5. Slipping the clutch unnecessarily when shifting
Some riders keep slipping the clutch longer than necessary during gear changes, even after the engine and gearbox are already synchronized.

💡Better: Make your shifts quick and smooth. Use the clutch to disengage, shift, then progressively release it without unnecessary slipping.

Clutch is designed to slip when necessary, especially when starting from a stop. The goal isn’t to never slip the clutch, but to avoid unnecessary and prolonged slipping. Take care of your clutch and it will take care of you ☠️

Neutral at a stop goes against everything anyone ever says about stops. Need to be ready to get out of the way of danger

I have a question. Is it okay to flick the clutch while up shifting your gears at higher rpms, i mostly rev match while downshifting so it’s kind of a habit to flick the clutch everytime i shift gears.

I don’t agree with N at stops. If you’re in N and a car behind you is distracted, you’re toast.

2 Is wrong. Riding the friction zone is fine when done correctly and how the wet clutches are designed to be used. You do not want to ride a dry clutch.
