As a young Bible college student in Jamaica, I often dreamed of attending the Church of God General Assembly. At the time, it seemed like a distant dream. Yet God has a way of accomplishing HIS purposes in His PERFECT timing, and this past week I found myself living what I once only imagined. One of the greatest blessings was reconnecting with pastors, mentors, friends, and ministry colleagues who have helped shape my faith and ministry over the years. If you’re tagged in these photos,THANK YOU! I value your friendship, your ministry, and the meaningful conversations and encouragement you shared throughout the week. You are a blessing!

As I reflect, during the the LEAD Conference, Dr. John Maxwell reminded us to “settle the Lordship issue once and for all, who will truly govern your life: God or you?” He also said something that has stayed with me: “Success can get to your head, but significance gets to your heart.” My wife thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Dave Martin session, she recalled him saying something I won’t soon forget, “The only thing that deserves grace is sin; poor work ethic does not.” I left General Assembly with a renewed vision, not just for ministry, but for the mission of God. We were reminded that more than 3 billion people around the world have yet to hear the name of Jesus, and I believe that reality should reshape our priorities and how we do ministry … Acts 1:8 is still relevant “be EMPOWERED… then be WITNESSES in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”

I am convinced that every Church of God pastor, and every member, if given the opportunity, should experience General Assembly at least once. I leave grateful, humbled, challenged, and inspired to serve Christ with even greater intentionality.
