Twenty years in the Marais dedicated to contemporary photography — and now, a new chapter. Sit Down was founded in 2005 by Françoise Bornstein, who has been practicing ceramics herself for over twenty-five years. So when the gallery decided to bring ceramics into its program, it wasn’t a pivot. It was inevitable.
Photography and ceramic work now coexist in the same space, surface and volume in conversation, image and object finding each other. The kind of evolution that only makes sense in hindsight.
We’re thrilled to welcome them for the first time at the Maison de l’Amérique latine, Paris, October 20 to 25.
