π (π»ππ πΊπππππ), 1969, on view in ππ¨π¦ππ₯ππ§ππ¬, forms part of the National Gallery of Artβs permanent collection, acquired through the Pepita Milmore Memorial Fund and the Gift of the Rafael Soriano Family Collection. The work reflects an important transition in Sorianoβs practice, as he moved away from the more concrete forms of his earlier geometric work and began turning inward, using rounded, almost otherworldly forms to explore ideas of spirituality, the cosmos, and the unseen. The work also speaks to his experience of migration, making its inclusion in ππ¨π¦ππ₯ππ§ππ¬ particularly fitting.
Β
ππ¨π¦ππ₯ππ§ππ¬ is on view through August 1, 2027. As stated by the National Gallery of Art, admission is always free.
