Something ancient moves within the sound.

You don’t quite know where it is taking you. You only know you have to follow it.

The second movement “II Agora” by Leo Brouwer with the Athens State Orchestra and Nikos Haliassas at Musa Music Festival.

Connecticut College '31! 🐪

I am excited to announce my commitment to the admissions process at Connecticut College to continue my academic and athletic career.

Thank you to my mom, dad, and my sisters, Gracie, Lucy, and Anabel, for being my biggest supporters and always believing in me.

Thank you to everyone at Berwick Academy who has supported me over the years, especially my coaches and teammates.

A huge thank you Keith Friel for always pushing me and helping me develop as a player.

Thank you to all my AAU coaches throughout the years, especially Laurie Bollin and Abi Davids.

Thank you to the coaches at Phillips Exeter for welcoming me into the program. I'm so excited for the season ahead!

Finally, thank you to Coach Wade and Coach Erin, and the entire Connecticut College basketball program for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I'm beyond excited to be part of the Class of 2031!

Go Camels! 🐪 💙

Want to learn more moves like this? Full self-defense instructional is linked in my bio! 💪

The single-leg takedown is one of my favorite self-defense takedowns, especially for a smaller person defending against a larger, stronger attacker.

YUNG MAGAZINE FALL 2026. THE HUMAN ISSUE.

“My role in life has completely changed from being a daughter to now I’m just me.”

For Egyptian actress @taraemad , losing her mother changed everything. Her relationship with herself, her understanding of home, and the way she chooses to move through the world.

Some things, though, remain untouched by time. The garden they once tended together. The Turkish coffee she still makes every Friday. The conversations she continues to have with someone who is no longer physically there.

Behind a career spent playing different characters, Tara is learning to navigate a role no one could have prepared her for.

And when asked what she protects most fiercely these days, her answer is simple.

“My peace of mind.”

For YUNG’s Human Issue, Tara Emad on love, loss, and the parts of ourselves we carry forward.
