Just before the Northwest Youth Summit, our Youth Leading Change Program Fellows came together for a Leadership Retreat.
The conversations challenged each Fellow to ask: “Who will you become when no one is watching?”
Throughout the fellowship, young people have gained the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead change in their communities.
The retreat reinforced that meaningful leadership starts within. Before advocating for accountability, we must hold ourselves accountable. Before championing development, we must commit to our own growth. Before calling for integrity in public life, we must embody it in our everyday actions.
After the retreat, we asked our Fellows what the experience meant to them and what they were taking away. Their reflections revealed the depth of the conversations and the personal transformation sparked by the engagement.
We extend our appreciation to our Founder, Sani Muhammad (@sani_scholar), for facilitating such a thought-provoking session, and to the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (@ng_youthfund) for their support in making the Youth Leading Change Program.
