When we overthink, we make up scenarios and outcomes that don't exist and likely never will. We then make up even more scenarios and outcomes about each previously imagined scenario or outcome. We repeat that, grasping at control, or a feeling of safety and comfort while staring into the unknown.
We frighten ourselves, give ourselves a rapid heartbeat, a headache, indigestion, and / or ensure that we have trouble sleeping... but we don't accomplish anything real beyond that.
No amount of overthinking is going to fully prepare us for the unknown though. We don't actually know what will happen until it happens.
If you overthink sometimes, congratulations. There is nothing wrong with you. You're human, and humans overthink sometimes.
However, if you habitually let your own overthinking keep you stuck, keep you from having any fun, or keep you from living fully... I'm here to remind you that you don't have to do that.
Will you step off of the hamster wheel, take a step forward, and trust yourself enough to know that you will be ok?
If you might need help finding your own wisdom and learning to trust it, please reach out. I would be happy to help. If not me, please find someone else who can help and reach out to them. Life is too precious to spend it worrying about things that don't even exist.
