Yes, a promoter should promote but a promoter can’t promote you as much as you can promote yourself and your team.
This is starting cost, so you’re in the hole just from medicals.
This doesn’t include training, travel, diet, time off work, your coaches licensing fees, etc.
The purse size I’m mentioning is for Muay Thai, I’ve had our guys offered as low as $200!

I never had plans of going pro. I was a broke college student and just fought for funzies. 10 days before my 10th or 11th ammy bout the promoter called and said he would cover my licensing if I fought a pro opponent whose original opponent dropped out. I agreed. And won. And the rest is history 😂 Probably wouldn’t have gone pro otherwise! Its expensiiiive
