3 months agoThis one is pretty special to me. Dana first suggested I try Hypa Hypa just under a year ago. It felt impossible my first session. I eventually learned Dana's beta, but the moves were low percentage and putting it all together was a grind. I would work it for a few sessions, get distracted with other projects, and circle back around in time to find that i forgot most of what I learned. I had a breakthrough in Dec, dropping only the last move. I injured my left shoulder not long after and had to put the project on hold. I finally felt good enough to start focusing on the climb again a few weeks ago. I changed my beta to avoid the foot swap on H4 and ended up unlocking the key to making the undercling high percentage. Over the last two weeks, I managed to send the boulder 4 times, but this last attempt was my first time making it through with no mistakes, no regrips, and no erroneous foot placements. Deadpointing the pocket was an absolute grind. I worked the climb for so long that I wanted it to be as perfect as I could make it before I said goodbye. I learned so much about the climb and about myself as a climber on this one. Much love to everyone that climbed it with me and gave me support throughout the grind. And infinite thanks to @darader_boards for putting this up and encouraging me to get on it. It's a bm in my (log)book.🙏
