Painting the Sonoran Desert is never about painting the same landscape twice.
The light changes by the minute. Hillsides shift from warm gold to lavender. Saguaros cast long blue shadows, and colors seem to appear where you didn’t notice them moments before.
These three pastels were painted on location in Arizona, where the desert is constantly changing with the light. The final image shows my easel set up in the very landscape that inspired these paintings.
Desert Ridge has found a wonderful new home, while Fresh Desert and Plein Air in the Desert are still available.
Thank you to everyone who has welcomed my paintings into your homes. It is a privilege to paint these beautiful places and share them with others.
