That was so unnecessary. ——— During the final lap of a chaotic, rain-affected Singapore Grand Prix Sprint race on October 10, 2026, McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri suffered a dramatic collision while battling for fourth place. Chasing Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari, Norris launched a late, inside overtake maneuver on Piastri at Turn 5. Norris ran over the inside kerb, causing his left-front tyre to clip Piastri’s right-rear wheel. The contact sent both papaya cars into a spin, slamming Piastri into the wall and forcing him to retire from the race (DNF). Norris managed to recover and continue, but dropped significantly down the order to finish in eighth place, salvaging just a single championship point.
