What a privilege it was to be part of another incredible production by @dansstudio_artem

This year's show, Schatten op Zolder ("Treasures in the Attic"), brought stories, emotions, and imagination to life on stage in the most beautiful way.

Capturing these moments is something I look forward to every year.

Some impressions of the Belgian Youth Triathlon Championships in Zwevegem.

No fewer than 360 athletes where lining up at the start. Once again, it turned out to be a successful edition, the wind added an extra touch of spectacle and created some surprising twists in the race at times.

Met this resplendent quetzal male (Pharomachrus mocinno) during my recent trip to Costa Rica. It is a, amazing bird found in Central America and southern Mexico that lives in tropical forests, particularly montane cloud forests.

The species is well known for its colorful and complex plumage that differs substantially between sexes.

Males have iridescent green plumes, a red lower breast and belly, black innerwings and a white undertail, whilst females are duller and have a shorter tail. Grey lower breasts, bellies, and bills, along with bronze-green heads are characteristic of females. These birds hollow holes in decaying trees or use ones already made by woodpeckers as a nest site.

The collared aracari or collared araçari (Pteroglossus torquatus) is a near-passerine bird in the toucan family Ramphastidae. It is found from Mexico to Colombia and Venezuela.

Another cutie I met during my trip to Costa Rica with @starling_reizen. The Three-Toed Sloth.

The sloth is the world's slowest mammal, so sedentary that algae grows on its furry coat. The plant gives it a greenish tint that is useful camouflage in the trees of its Central and South American rain forest home.

All sloths are built for life in the treetops. They spend nearly all of their time aloft, hanging from branches with a powerful grip aided by their long claws.

Couldn't miss this guy while travelling through Costa Rica with @starling_reizen.

The scarlet macaw (Ara macao) also called the red-and-yellow macaw, red-and-blue macaw or red-breasted macaw, is a large yellow, red and blue Neotropical parrot native to humid evergreen forests of the Americas.

It is about 84 centimeters long, of which more than half is the pointed, graduated tail typical of all macaws, though the scarlet macaw has a larger percentage of tail than the other large macaws.

The average weight is about 1 kilogram. The plumage is mostly scarlet, but the rump and tail-covert feathers are light blue, the greater upper wing coverts are yellow, the upper sides of the flight feathers of the wings are dark blue as are the ends of the tail feathers, and the undersides of the wing and tail flight feathers are dark red with metallic gold iridescence. Some individuals may have green in the wings.

The Central American subspecies is larger and averages 89 cm in length.

There is bare white skin around the eye and from there to the bill. Tiny white feathers are contained on the face patch. The upper mandible is mostly pale horn in color and the lower is black.

Juveniles have dark eyes; adults have light yellow eyes.

Scarlet macaws make very loud, high and sometimes low-pitched, throaty squawks, squeaks and screams designed to carry many kilometers to call for their groups.

The rufous-tailed jacamar (Galbula ruficauda) is a near passerine bird which breeds in the tropical New World in southern Mexico, Central America and South America as far south as southern Brazil and Ecuador.

I met him during a 17 day trip in Costa Rica with @starling_reizen.

This bird is metallic green above, and the underparts are mainly orange, including the undertail, but there is a green breast band. Sexes differ in that the male has a white throat, and the female a buff throat; she also tends to have paler underparts.

This insectivore hunts from a perch, sitting with its bill tilted up, then flying out to catch flying insects.

While travelling trough Costa Rica with @starling_reizen I met this little fellow.

The emerald tanager mainly inhabits humid lowland forest, montane evergreen forest, and secondary forest.

It is omnivorous and feeds mainly on fruit, flowers, and flower buds, supplementing its diet with arthropods.
