This is an interesting book to read if you all get a chance. It is called The Hidden History of the Black American West by Alaina E. Roberts & The Great Courses. It talks about the untold history of African explorers of the Americas, rich Black Americans during that time, other contributions like being the first rangers and cowboys, the true historical figures of some of our American heroes that were actually black before they were whitewashed, the first integrated cities started by black men and more. It is really worth a read or a listen. What it doesn’t cover but I’ve found rather interesting is the fact that some Black Americans might have started off as descendants of dark skinned native Americans. Some of these natives were classified as negroes as well due to the color of their skin. When we think about history we tend to forget that all people started off with darker skin tones during the earlier timeframes. We still see dark skinned people of Asian descent currently. Why wouldn’t they exist in the Americas back then? I can’t recall where I read the latter but I do go back and forth with AI a lot trying to understand more about the people during that time and also to question why the only story being told is the story about all Black Americans coming over on ships where they were enslaved when it and others are aware that there is more to this story. We absolutely 💯 need to learn more about African Kingdoms, which is all a part of our African American Heritage and History!! Slavery is only one part of the story!! It’s important to know our African History as well because this is an Education we were denied!! The American Educational system, the media and much of the world wanted to promote the idea of Africa and Africans as inferior to justify the mistreatment and enslavement of African Americans and the Africans in the world diaspora !! Others can say they came from this country or that but this knowledge was denied fir us because they did not want us to know where we came from or to speak our own languages or play our own music or practice our own religions!! We must be proud to say our ancestors were from Africa and in order to have that pride we must know the triumphs and the beauty of Africa and its Culture and its great Kingdoms!! Africa is the cradle of humanity and the cradle of Civilization!!! We must learn the whole story not just a part of it!! 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

I think the history he’s referring too is African history about royalty, but Black American history is all that happened in America. We didn’t have kings and queens, our history is enslavement, reconstruction, Jim Crow, red linen, co-intel-pro, segregation, HBCU, civil rights movement, inventors, etc. I’m more fascinated by that b/c of how they tried to erase it. Imagine if we knew all stories of each enslaved person, the curiosity of knowing about those people fascinates me.

The reality is that we’re all descended from both royalty and enslaved people. This is because slavery and royalty are near universal human institutions.
