When I was planning how to celebrate my 50th birthday, I told my wife there was only one place where I wanted to celebrate—Amamoto. 💕🎂w

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that Amamoto is my favorite restaurant in the world. For this milestone birthday, I wanted to share the experience with some of my closest friends, including a few who aren’t hardcore foodies, so they could experience Chef Amamoto’s incredible sushi and create memories together that will last a lifetime.

Thanks to friends who traveled from Los Angeles, Taiwan, and Vietnam, we were all able to gather at Amamoto for this very special celebration. A heartfelt thank you to Chef Amamoto and his team for welcoming us and making this unforgettable birthday possible. We are truly grateful.😍

We began with an exceptional selection of otsumami, featuring many of my favorites: mozuku, firefly squid, seaweed, sea bream, whale, botan shrimp with uni, and bonito.🙇🏻‍♂️

Without a doubt, the most memorable and special dish of the evening was the deep-fried fugu. The fugu was sourced from Chef Amamoto’s hometown of Fukuoka, and this was the very first time he had ever prepared it this way. It was absolutely delicious—perfectly crisp on the outside while remaining tender and delicate inside—and we felt incredibly fortunate to experience such a rare dish prepared especially for this celebration. 💕💕😍
