Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Wednesday declined an urgent hearing on a plea seeking Supreme Court intervention over alleged police action against CJP protesters at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. During the hearing, the CJI remarked, "Don't waste our time, and don't waste your time," while also stating that the court did not have time to watch videos submitted as evidence of alleged police excesses. The bench refused to grant an immediate listing and advised the petitioners to follow the regular legal process. The matter relates to allegations of excessive force used during the recent student-led CJP protest in the national capital.
