Yesterday, we welcomed students from the Emory Pre-College course Archaeological Investigation: Pompeii and Herculaneum to the Carlos Museum!
Led by instructors Tyler Holman and Tori Burke, students explored how archaeologists and historians use objects to better understand daily life in the ancient Roman world. Using the Carlos Museum's collections and online catalog, they completed a scavenger hunt, examined Roman artworks and artifacts, and discussed how these objects connect to the people and places of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Students also shared fascinating presentations and observations about their chosen objects in the galleries.
Thank you to the Emory Pre-College Program for visiting. We loved having you at the museum!
