If you ever see a flash of yellow while walking through a rainforest on the east coast of Australia, it's probably one of these guys—an eastern yellow robin 💛

They don't bother searching for a horizontal branch to alight on. This is a characteristic 'hero' pose of theirs, hanging sideways like gravity doesn't affect them 🦸🏻‍♂️

Despite the name, they are not close relatives of the familiar European robin. Like Australia’s other robins, they belong to a distinctly Australasian family, with their own habits, colours and unmistakable character.
