We’re going behind the scenes of the light painting process!

Lori is wearing all black in her blacked out studio. Once she opens her exposure, she lights the model (in this case, Nora as the Ruby of the Sea from Critical Role), she lights her model—who must stay completely still for the full exposure—with a flash of a model light. The studio goes dark once again as Lori uses a variety of tools to paint patterns around the model, where the term “light painting” comes in. She closes the exposure and we admire her magic on a monitor she has set up (also very helpful for posing before we go dark).
