In response to an uptick in community violence in the Falcon Crest apartment complex, ONE Lexington is increasing community presence in the area to support youth and families. Yesterday, we started our “Neighborhood Healing Wednesdays” block parties featuring live music, free food, kid activities, mental health specialists, domestic violence advocates, and youth mentors. We will also be doing “teen nights” on Tuesdays and “After Midnight” engagements on the weekends.
Identify ways that you, your family, or organization can be a part of this rapid-response plan. This action plan is informed by and in support of the Tates Creek Community Coalition’s recently constructed strategic plan, which works to address more of the long-term issues in the Centre Parkway area.
