Aussie friends, is this normal?! I was just about to sit down for breakfast when a cockatoo swooped onto the porch. I went to snap a little photo and that’s when he grabbed an entire piece of toast!

Coming from the states where cockatoos only exist in cages, I am always so thrilled to see them flying freely here…but this was my first time experiencing such a close encounter.

P.S. Don’t (intentionally) feed birds bread! It has little nutritional value and can encourage dependence on humans, which is the opposite of what wild animals need. Given his boldness, I have a feeling this guy has helped himself to human food before, and may be working as part of a very large network of professional food thieves.
