What an incredible debut! Thank you so much for the ARC :))

I absolutely devoured this plot alongside its exploration of discrimination, abuse of power, systemic corruption and the morally gray. I love Evy, Royen, Celeste and Zafir. This definitely felt unique in its fantasy elements and I was actually surprised that everyone cared for each other despite being rivals in the trials. The trials were really intriguing to read and the premise was so good. There were a bunch of twists that I was not expecting for sure! Truly an incredible job of Yorik and Lawrence consistently pissing me off 😤

Also, I haven't read a solid love triangle subplot in a long time (& no spice, yay!), and the fact that for almost the entire book I had no idea who I liked more was astounding. The arc from rivals to allies to yearning is 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽. I hate that this book ended and that I read this right away because I just want to know what happens next, even the Heart be yearning for Evy to come back already 😂 very interested to see the direction that this series will go in 👀👀
