The company I worked at for 9yrs sold while I was on maternity leave. Two weeks postpartum. With a brand new baby who had zero interest in sleeping more than 40 minutes at a time.

I gave myself 4 months and then I had to start interviewing for a new job. I was pumping in between calls, scheduling interviews around nap windows, praying my baby would hold it together long enough for me to sound like a competent human being on Zoom lol.

And somehow I did it. Hour by hour, interview by interview, running on no sleep and a four month sleep regression, I landed a job I was actually excited about.

I think about that season a lot. Not because it was fun, it was genuinely one of the hardest stretches of my life, but because it proved something to me. We hold so much more than anyone gives us credit for, often while looking completely composed on the outside.
