Why does PASS USA exist?
Our Executive Director, @_jbfavour, always comes back to one question: WHY.
Why do we exist as a nonprofit. Why do we do this work. Why does PASS USA matter in the lives of young people in South Sudan.
In many of the communities we serve, there are very few full ride university scholarship opportunities for college aged youth. For many talented young people, PASS USA is not just an option, it is the only real chance to access higher education.
And we don’t just send students to school.
We provide full ride university scholarships, monthly allowances, learning materials, shelter, and mentorship. We walk with students through the journey so they can stay in school, grow, and actually complete their education.
Because without this support, the reality is painful. Many young people end up pulled into violent armed groups, pushed into early marriage, or trapped in poverty that repeats itself across generations.
This is why PASS USA exists.
To break that cycle.
To stand in the gap where opportunity is missing.
And to invest in young people who only need one real chance to change everything.
Education is not just school. It is safety. It is dignity. It is direction. And it is a different future.
This is the why behind PASS USA.
If this speaks to you, stand with us. Support a scholarship, partner with us, or help open the door for another young person ready for their chance.
