CEMENT WORKSHOP, THURSDAY 30th from 18h30
For our 5th La Chaise workshop, we will be exploring cement as a creative material. This workshop is an introduction to the basic techniques of cement mixing, mould-making and small object casting. We will work with cement, sand and water to create small handmade pieces such as pots, trays, candle holders, decorative plates and experimental forms.
Participants will learn how to prepare a fine cement mix, how to control the amount of water, how to use silicone moulds, and how to build simple handmade moulds using cardboard, tape, wood and found objects.
Creativity is not only something we think about. It is something we practice, a process, a method, and a physical act. That is why we create these workshops: to make space for people to slow down, use their hands, and meet each other through the act of making.
This one will be a little messy, so bring clothes you are happy getting dirty.
A huge thank you to
