Good one from the vault popped up in memories today - 14 years ago on this day chasing big fish on stretches of the Red River between Oklahoma and Texas. An awesome bend on a stretch of river where virtually no one ever chased gar, and it had some absolute monsters. I think we were a bit ahead of our time with these fish going back even years earlier when it was much more common to be lambasted and scrutinized for interacting with one - where they were called useless trash fish. Their renaissance in the last 20 years or so has been something really awesome to see.
