🏟️ Manchester United vs Leeds United. An historic pre-season friendly took place at Croke Park between two long-established English football clubs, Manchester United and Leeds United. The match ended 1–1 after 90 minutes, with Joshua Zirkzee opening the scoring for Manchester United before Brenden Aaronson equalised shortly afterwards for Leeds United. The game then went straight to a penalty shootout, where Manchester United emerged victorious with a 5–4 win. The Red Devils will hope to carry this momentum into the new season. Leeds United put in a brave performance but ultimately fell just short in the shootout.

It was a sell-out crowd, with 82,000 fans in attendance for this huge pre-season fixture. Croke Park is the biggest stadium in Ireland, and it rarely hosts football matches. This was the first football match played here since 2009, when the Republic of Ireland faced France in a FIFA World Cup qualifier. It is an amazing stadium with an incredible atmosphere, and I would personally love to see it host a major event such as the UEFA Champions League Final. I really hope to return to Croke Park one day to witness another great sporting occasion.
