Scenes from yesterday’s celebration of Samoan Heritage Week at San Francisco City Hall. ❤️🌺
It was so good seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and celebrating our community together. Every event like this reminds me how many incredible people are quietly doing the work to preserve our culture and create opportunities for future generations.
One of my biggest takeaways was learning more about the work of the National Samoan Chiefs Council (Nu’u o Matai). Even growing up in the Bay Area, I’m realizing there’s so much happening behind the scenes that many of us never get to see.
I’m especially proud of @manufouanoai. Watching her leadership and the heart she and her family pour into our community is truly inspiring.
Grateful to have been there and excited to keep learning. ❤️🌺
