We didn’t see us. Not in brands. Not in storylines. So we started building. From scratch. From heart. Poly Girl was born to honor our shared roots and the need for something that reflects us. Not just what we wear, but who we are. Where we come from. Where we’re going. This is our story - powerful, proud, and still unfolding. #polygirl #polygirlofficial #wearyourstory #becoming #representationmatters by @polygirlofficial
We’ve been sharing our journey for a few months now, but I wanted to take a moment to re-introduce us. I’m Alice Stella (I answer to both names 😁) and along with my husband David, we’re the founders of Poly Girl, a brand rooted in our Polynesian and Pacific Island heritage, and inspired by the strength, identity, and resilience of a woman. We started Poly Girl because we didn’t see women like myself, our daughters, mothers, aunties, cousins, nieces and friends, reflected in the everyday world around us. Not in the brands on shelves, the stories being told, or the spaces we moved through. While the fashion and apparel industry is new to us, our story isn’t- it’s our lived experience, now brought to life through Poly Girl. Every product we design, every messsage we share, and every step we take is part of a bigger vision: to build a brand that honors the women we admire - their experiences, their impact, and the many layers of who they are becoming. Poly Girl is The Island Girl’s Brand - created for those who carry their identity with pride while making bold moves in the world. And while the brand is inspired by women, it’s been incredible to see the men wear our designs and stand with the message. In a world where women often wear pieces made for men, we love seeing that energy come full circle - with fathers, uncles, brothers, nephews, and friends of all nationalities, proudly reppin Poly Girl. We’re grateful for every supporter who sees themselves, or the women they love, in this story. We’re just getting started, and we’d love for you to folllow along as we build this brand from ground up. Your feedback and support is appreciated. If the Poly Girl message resonates with you, please share it with someone you love. Watch the video in bio for ourstory. Malo @blkb3ry for sharing your beautiful music with the world and we’re able to use it here. Fa’afetai, Malo, Vinaka, and Mahalo. #polygirlofficial #polygirl #theislandgirlsbrand by @polygirlofficial
Family gives her her roots. Dreams give her somewhere to go. For Amaya, those two things have always gone together. The people who believed in her and the freedom to imagine herself somewhere bigger. And now another your Poly Girl might see Amaya and think, maybe I can do that too. THIS is a Poly Girl Amaya Masoli. Make it a great week! 🌺 by @polygirlofficial
We are taught to be thankful. I wish we were also taught that it is okay to want more. Stella of @polygirlofficial on the part nobody says out loud. That the respect we are raised in can turn into shrinking yourself, so you are never seen as too assertive. Talanoa, tea, and something to take home. Our first newsletter arrives in September. Link in my bio. Send this to a woman who has been making herself smaller. #DearSuga #PolyGirl #Pasifika #PacificIslander #PolynesianWomen by @polygirlofficial
Dress it up and wear your story with confidence. Confidence looks good on you, Poly Girl. 🌺 #polygirl #wearyourstory #theislandgirlsbrand #confidencelooksgoodonyou by @polygirlofficial
Have a great week! 🤗🌺😍 by @polygirlofficial
Scenes from yesterday’s celebration of Samoan Heritage Week at San Francisco City Hall. ❤️🌺 It was so good seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and celebrating our community together. Every event like this reminds me how many incredible people are quietly doing the work to preserve our culture and create opportunities for future generations. One of my biggest takeaways was learning more about the work of the National Samoan Chiefs Council (Nu’u o Matai). Even growing up in the Bay Area, I’m realizing there’s so much happening behind the scenes that many of us never get to see. I’m especially proud of @manufouanoai. Watching her leadership and the heart she and her family pour into our community is truly inspiring. Grateful to have been there and excited to keep learning. ❤️🌺 #SamoanHeritageWeek #PolyGirl #Pasifika #SanFrancisco #samoa by @polygirlofficial
