Story time. I haven’t been customizing long, but I’ve really fallen in love with it. I started out just painting on some shoes for my kids to get the feel of things, but I quickly realized I wanted to do more than just repaint sneakers. I wanted to be able to transform them and I wanted to find my own unique “voice” or style. This is the first pair I feel like I’m really doing that. I’m not just copying someone else’s design, but making my own. This started as a Phantom Pine Green. The first time I saw that shoe I knew I wanted to customize it. I love the gum outsole and the aged black leather, but didn’t really vibe with the rest of the shoe. So I painted the phantom panels with
@angelusdirect Terra Cotta, the inside swoosh with black (mixed with duller), stained the midsole with a
@foxtrott_uniform pen, stitched in some detail, and decided to go with a natural premium leather swoosh on the outside. Picked up some nice laces from
@litlaces that matched the tone of the shoe. Last thing to do before it’s finished is add some custom embroidered tongue tags.
