Glen came and stayed at our home in London in 2012. We had a pretty interesting yard and building as Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel started their journey there and it was soaked in theatre history. On the first day we made photographs that were used in his first album ‘Rhythm and Repose’ and we made the video for the single ’Philander’. Glen had a suitcase of clothes and Chelle styled the looks using some of her vintage menswear.

I have an old copy of ‘Ulysses’ and after a long lunch in our kitchen by the yard, Glen read the final pages to us (his idea!). We made a lot of coffee with my Pavoni, the same one Glen has in his kitchen, and in the evening we went to see Bronagh Gallagher play in Bush Hall. Glen did a solo set in support. Over a few days days we laughed and created and talked and hugged and drank and played. Constantly. It was fun, it was effortless, it was Glen.

I have been seriously thinking about deleting some social media accounts in recent years for obvious reasons, but the outpouring of love for this man in the last couple of days online has been a phenomenon. My heart is truly broken. All of our hearts are hurting and the calls and chats and many, many stories are pulling us close. His spirit has not gone, he is still within us all and he will never be forgotten.
