Time is the greatest thief ❤️‍🩹

Today our Molly crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈🐾

Over 16 years of unconditional love and memories that will last a lifetime, today we said our final goodbye to our beautiful girl.

In 2010 we picked you up from the Dogs Trust just as a tiny little puppy and little did we know the heartache that was to come, but I would do it all a million times over just for you to be my dog in every lifetime.

Thank you for being the best big sister to Basel I’ll love you forever.

Thank you for everything Molly ❤️‍🩹

Some autistic kids don’t understand when a request is genuinely impossible:

▪️Asking for a broken object to work exactly the way it did before
▪️Asking for a food or product that is completely sold out
▪️Asking to go somewhere that is closed
▪️Asking to bring back an item that was lost and cannot be found
▪️Asking for the weather to change
▪️Asking to make a character in a book or video do something different
▪️Asking to make a pet behave in a very specific way on command
▪️Asking to make someone stop crying, coughing, or making another involuntary sound

Repeated attempts to help them achieve the impossible can keep hope alive and ultimately make the disappointment BIGGER.

So when the request is impossible, show them you understand what they want,
then be clear that it cannot happen.

Your job is not to prevent disappointment, it’s to give clear information and help them through it.

In therapy, kids can practice accepting an alternative after a small, less-important request cannot be met.

Over time, kids can build more flexibility, tolerate disappointment, and learn what to do when the answer truly cannot change 💙

Neighbors, new heartbreaking details have emerged about the death of Hassan Kariem, who fell from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia while celebrating a birthday with his family.
_________________
According to Atlanta News First, Kariem was riding alongside his niece when the tragedy occurred. His brother-in-law, Joshua Nelson, revealed that Kariem’s final words were, “This is my favorite ride, I’m so excited to be here.”

Nelson said his daughter witnessed Kariem lift from his seat while the ride was moving, before the safety restraint came undone.

After getting off the ride, the young girl called her father crying, telling him, “I don’t know where he went.”

Kariem, who was remembered as a loving father and dedicated teacher, had visited the park with his wife, daughter and niece.

Six Flags is reopening Friday, October 16, but the Goliath roller coaster will remain closed until further notice. Reports initially stated that Kariem was riding next to his son, but family has confirmed that he has no biological children.
