Most triathletes spend their money in the wrong places. Here’s what I’d invest in first:
1. Good quality bike shorts and running shoes. These are the main contact points for the bike and run. Having dependable comfort in those two areas will make training and racing a much more enjoyable experience!
2. Basic recovery equipment is key if you want to be feeling your best over the long haul of training for triathlons. A foam roller, and a budget cupping set is a great investment to keep your body loose and feeling ready to take on consistent training.
3. A bike fit is a very important thing to do soon after you start training. Many injuries stem from improper bike fit and the subsequent compensation your body needs to make. Taking care of this early on in your training will put your body in a mechanically efficient position allowing you to get the most out of it!

Did I miss anything? What are your top 3?
