The moment you are called for an interview, every stage matters.Whether it’s a recruiter, talent acquisition, or the hiring manager — I always treat that very first conversation as the start of the interview process, even if I’m told it’s “just a chat” or “an informal conversation.” Because in reality, it’s never just that. And I never approach it casually.
The real question being asked is:
“Does this person meet the basic requirements, and should we continue the conversation?”
That’s why one thing I ALWAYS prepare before an interview is my introduction.
I mean a clear, confident answer to:
Who are you professionally?
What do you do?
What experience do you have that is relevant to this role?
And why does this opportunity make sense for you?
You need to be able to communicate your experience in a way that makes sense to someone who may NOT have a high-level understanding of the role.
So before your next interview, don’t just prepare answers to 20 possible questions.
Prepare your 60–90 second professional introduction.
Know your story. Know your strengths. Know what you want them to remember about you because sometimes the difference between “we’ll get back to you” and “we’d like to invite you to the next stage” is simply how clearly you communicated your value.
And yes, this is something I’ve used throughout my own interviews, and it has helped me get called back after stage after stage.
‼️Save this before your next interview, and comment “GUIDE” if you want my interview guide to help you prepare with more confidence and actually know what to expect.
