I’ve been through seasons where rejection made me question myself, my abilities and whether I was actually good enough.

So I put together a few podcasts/videos on confidence, rejection, self-belief and putting yourself out there that I’ve personally watched and found helpful.

If rejection has been messing with your confidence lately, save this and comment ā€œYOUTUBEā€ and I’ll send you the videos. šŸ’š taken in England, UK by @theladyelfrida

As someone who pays for nursery fees because my child’s nursery place wasn’t funded, I wanted to be really intentional about where I chose to send him.

These are some of the things I did to prepare and choose the right nursery for us:

1. I asked for recommendations.
I asked people in my church who had used nurseries for their recommendations. But I didn’t just take someone’s word for it. I still researched every nursery myself and asked my own questions.

2. I searched for nurseries close to home or work.
I thought about our actual routine. Drop-offs, pick-ups, traffic and what would realistically work around work and family life.

3. I READ the Google reviews.
Not just the star rating. I wanted to know what other parents were actually saying. I found one nursery with concerning reviews and didn’t even bother contacting them.

4. I visited the nurseries and asked LOTS of questions.
Meals, naps, outdoor play, sickness, staff-to-child ratios, settling-in, communication with parents… everything I wanted to know.

And please, ask the questions! You’re leaving your child there. Pay attention to how they treat you AND how they interact with your child.

5. I checked the Ofsted report.
I didn’t just look at the rating. I read the report and looked at what Ofsted actually said, including any areas for improvement.

If you don’t know how to find a nursery’s Ofsted report,  comment ā€œNURSERYā€ and I’ll send you the link.

6. I prepared him for the routine
Before he started, I kept on reading a nursery book for him and telling him that he was going to the nursery soon.

Lastly and most importantly, make sure you get in contact with the nursery on time so you don’t have to wait too long before your child gets a space.

And if your toddler has started nursery,  share your tips in the comments. Someone else’s experience might be exactly what another parent needs. šŸ‘‡šŸ¾ by @theladyelfrida

Not me crying 🄹like a baby. I was excited for him to have new experiences, meet other children, make friends and learn new things. But I was also nervous about leaving him, wondering if he would settle in, if he would miss me and whether I would be the one struggling more.

I’m just so happy that my baby is growing up. He’s becoming his own little person, discovering the world around him and becoming more independent every day. And while I’m so proud of him, I’m also having to learn how to let go, just a little bit.

Of course they had the app I could use to monitor but it doesn’t say if he is crying.🄹

How did you feel when you dropped your baby off at the nursery for the first time?

Sometimes you don’t get hired because the interviewer didn’t connect with you.
And no, I’m not saying you need to become a different person or perform for an interviewer.

But interviews are human interactions.

They are thinking:
ā€œCan this person do the job?ā€

But also:

ā€œWould I enjoy working with them?ā€
ā€œCan I trust them?ā€
ā€œWill they fit into the team?ā€
ā€œDo they actually want to be here?ā€

This month, the sermon at church has been focused on visibility and your gifting. And honestly, it has resonated with me so much, especially as I’ve been consciously putting myself out there. Your gift is God sharing His divinity with you.

And I think that’s why I’m taking content creation more seriously, learning how to use my voice, show up consistently and figure out the business side of it too.

I’m still figuring it all out, but I’m choosing to be seen, to learn and to build. So if you’re like me, building a career abroad, figuring motherhood and financial freedom, join the train here and follow me @theladyelfrida and let’s build together.

What gift are you being challenged to stop hiding? šŸ‘‡šŸ¾ Let me know in the comments.

I’ve made certain mistakes in interviews so you don’t have to make them. Here are 3 I’d avoid:

 1. Not researching the company
Don’t just know the job description. Know the company, their values, and why you actually want to work there.

2. Not knowing my CV well enough
If it’s on your CV, be ready to talk about it. You should know your experience well enough to explain how it connects to the role.

If you tailor your CV properly to the job description, you’ll have a much clearer idea of which parts of your experience to speak about — and you’ll feel much more confident doing it.

šŸ“ŒComment ā€œAIā€ and I’ll send you my FREE AI CV Prompting Guide to help you use AI to tailor your CV to the job description and prepare with more confidence.

3. Not preparing questions
An interview goes both ways. Have a few genuine questions ready so you can understand the role, team and company better.

The job market is competitive, and recruiters are seeing more and more CVs that have been generated or heavily edited by AI. The problem isn’t using @chatgpt @claudeai or @googlegemini It’s using it generically.

The moment you are called for an interview, every stage matters.Whether it’s a recruiter, talent acquisition, or the hiring manager — I always treat that very first conversation as the start of the interview process, even if I’m told it’s ā€œjust a chatā€ or ā€œan informal conversation.ā€ Because in reality, it’s never just that. And I never approach it casually.

The real question being asked is:

ā€œDoes this person meet the basic requirements, and should we continue the conversation?ā€

That’s why one thing I ALWAYS prepare before an interview is my introduction.

I mean a clear, confident answer to:

Who are you professionally?
What do you do?
What experience do you have that is relevant to this role?
And why does this opportunity make sense for you?

You need to be able to communicate your experience in a way that makes sense to someone who may NOT have a high-level understanding of the role.

So before your next interview, don’t just prepare answers to 20 possible questions.

Prepare your 60–90 second professional introduction.

Know your story. Know your strengths. Know what you want them to remember about you because sometimes the difference between ā€œwe’ll get back to youā€ and ā€œwe’d like to invite you to the next stageā€ is simply how clearly you communicated your value.

And yes, this is something I’ve used throughout my own interviews, and it has helped me get called back after stage after stage.

ā€¼ļøSave this before your next interview, and comment ā€œGUIDEā€ if you want my interview guide to help you prepare with more confidence and actually know what to expect. by @theladyelfrida
