On today’s episode of Small Business Supporting Small Business, we’re at Wallflour Pizza in Eagle Rock. 🍕 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I’m a thin crust pizza kind of girl, and before their tavern style pies even existed, Wallflour was already my favorite pizzeria in Los Angeles. Their original sourdough pizzas have the perfect thin, crispy crust that keeps me coming back, so when Brandon and Carolina announced an even thinner tavern style pizza available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I didn’t need any convincing, I was already planning my next visit. One of the things I appreciate most about Wallflour is that they’re not trying to be everything to everyone. Instead of a menu with a hundred different items, they’ve created a thoughtfully curated menu where every dish feels intentional. The menu changes with the seasons, they source beautiful ingredients whenever possible from local farmers markets and local merchants, and you can really feel the care that goes into every plate. It’s one of those places where you can tell the food was created because they genuinely love what they do, not because they’re trying to fill pages of a menu. Their space is just as beautiful as the food: warm, welcoming, and one of those restaurants you immediately feel comfortable spending time in. I also want to give a little extra love to Henry from No Days Off Coffee, who was born and raised in El Sereno. Not only is he serving incredible coffee inside Wallflour, but he’s also continuing the cycle of supporting other small businesses by hosting regular pop-ups. If you’re around tomorrow, stop by because they’ll be hosting a local bakery with what looked like some seriously incredible pastries starting at 8am. That’s exactly the kind of collaboration I love seeing.
