Damien Silvestre-striegel

My last junior european championship ✨

One of the worst starts to a championship I’ve ever had.
Health issues, including a severe allergic reaction, trouble finding the right trajectories on the track, and immense stress due to these adverse conditions.
And yet,
there it was,
the crowning achievement,
the turnaround,
an unexpected third-place finish in the 100m that made me make the switch,
and then
that victory in the lap race,
a title I’d waited so long for,
one I’d stopped hoping for,
but there they were,
this gold medal and this jersey
nothing can describe how I felt in that moment.

None of this would ever have been possible without the unwavering support of my loved ones, my family, and my coaches.

For that, I wanted to thank my parents, who have always supported me through the good times and the bad.

@marilyneletyrant and Christophe, my second family in Brittany, who accompanied and supported me during these two years in Brittany and without whom I would never have had such wonderful years there,

@coach_morvan and @mau_bility for these two years of coaching and training that allowed me to get to where I am today and without whom I would never have reached the level needed to achieve these performances.

A special mention also goes to all my partners at the training center, both from this year and last year.

Thank you to the entire French national team staff for enabling us to arrive at this championship under the best possible conditions and thus be able to excel there.

Finally, thank you to @arenageisingenkaliskate and its partners for the equipment, which plays a central role in my performance and has therefore allowed me to perform as I should.

And never forget :
no matter what kind of night you’ve had, the sun always rises in the end ✨
