I’ve had the pleasure of taking one of Baran’s handpan workshop after years of being a violinist. I love warming up my hands and my ears; taking it slow before doing more intricate technical work. It’s always helpful walking into a practice with a loose goal of what I’m working on for the day/week and incorporating that with other pieces! 🙏 thanks for doing what you do Baran!

I had a chance to attend a couple of Baran’s workshops. He is a great instructor! Just wanted to say this because making music and teaching music are totally different things. Although my focus shifted more towards other instruments and I don’t practice handpan currently (maybe one day I’ll come back to it) what I love about the instrument is its percussive features so I would definitely lean more towards groove practices. It’s something so fundamental and yet you may be surprised to see many musicians overlook this topic especially if they have not exposed to a percussive instrument yet. So, I’d love to go through fundamentals over and over with a beginner’s mind.
