It's back!
Frills & Flannel’ is a gender affirming clothing swap for all ages of the LGBTQ+ community and allies. The idea is to create a space for folks to swap the clothes that don’t spark joy with clothing that is affirming and aligns with their gender identity. With increased attacks on the trans community and multiple dangerous bills targeting LGBTQ+ lives going through Alabama legislation, this swap is dedicated to trans joy and the human right to exist.
Saturday, September 5th
1pm-4pm
@mcacbham
Parking is free on side streets & in their lot on 32nd St S
Bring in a MAX (no big bags of clothes please) of 5 items (clothes, accessories, shoes, etc) & swap them for 5 new to you items!
Clothes will be sorted by size and not gender. Clothes leftover will be donated to @baobhm!
Gender affirming items are HIGHLY requested (it's also our whole thing) so binders, sealed/new makeup, etc
👀👀If you are in need of clothes, tell check-in Matcha sent you and there's no need to bring in anything.👀👀[EDITOR'S NOTE: MATCHA MENTIONED!😤😤😤😤]
As always, we'll have free safety supplies, resources, and a craft area. @smolbean.wav is bringing the tunes from 1-3pm
If you'd like to volunteer, our signup link is in our bio :) We're also looking for queer/trans artists/crafters that would like to donate a prize for a raffle drawing (ticket proceeds will go towards the next F&F) And if you have any relevant skills in fashion/gender-affirming care/makeup/etc and would like to share your skills, we'd love to connect!
We are SO excited to bring our favorite event back in a better space (with AC) and even more excited to be working with MCAC! The space is wheelchair accessible. Send us a DM if you have any accessibility requests!
