Sound of the East in the West” Gala Concert Highlights 12｜Qilian Soundscape – Dance of the Sand《祁连音画·舞沙》

Composed by Yaobo Lu for dizi and piano, Qilian Soundscape – Dance of the Sand《祁连音画·舞沙》evoked the vast landscapes of Qilian and the shifting movement of windblown sand.

The bright, agile voice of the dizi met the depth and power of the piano, creating a vivid musical dialogue shaped by flowing melodies, rhythmic energy and contrasting tonal colours.

Part of the 4th London International Chinese Music Festival, presented at Holy Sepulchre London on 27 August 2026.
