I’ve had this post sitting in my drafts for 2 weeks. I couldn’t come up with a caption. How do I conjure up the vocab to explain my deep appreciation for this craft, how I fell in love with a camera as a child and how this art has stuck with me professionally through 16 years, performing as a Time Machine to transport you back to your existsnces’s most beautiful moments. These moments are beyond precious and I get to protect them.
This caption was written to be an announcement of my move to San Francisco, California (surprise, I’m moving) however that news carries the least bit of importance about me or my brand. I hope your proximity to me is the least important reason I get chosen.
My fourth move in 4 years. (
#militarywife) This business is something I had to fight for, over and over. But struggling is compelling. Fighting for something you want so bad leads to an ocean’s depth of appreciation. And when you’re entrusted with the opportunity, you will not let them down.
I’ve been on a wonderfully transformation journey of growth the past couple of years through all these transitions. Growth that has no room to mention new camera gear or technical skills. Because choosing your wedding photographer has nothing to do with who’s the best photographer or has the most equipment.
It’s about choosing a photographer that lives to capture:
The photos that you wish you could show your younger self.
Photos your children will show your grand children.
Photos of the tears your dad tries to hide.
Photos that are the closest thing you have to being there again.
So yes, I still don’t feel as if this adequately sums up my passion for wedding photography. I’ll spend the next 16 years trying to put into photographs what I can’t put into words But perhaps thats the point. I’m not a writer. I’m a photographer.
