Today's harder than other days but I'm trying to focus on the good memories I have. It would have felt wrong not to acknowledge them. So...Here's to hula hoops, board games, dance parties in our living room, talking over reality TV & teen dramas, day trips, walks around ponds, you being the 'cool mom', tears, laughter, and every way you made the world feel less scary to live in. Here's to every birthday you spent on this earth before this first one with you gone from it. There never would have been enough time. I love you, Mom. Happy birthday up in heaven.
