A moment I’ll never forget.
NSO 2026 marked my first time ever public speaking, and somehow, my first stage was behind the podium at Morehouse College, embodying the spirit and legacy of Dr. Benjamin Elijah Mays as I welcomed the Morehouse College Class of 2030.
My message was simple, but one I believe deeply: education is more than a personal achievement; it is a sacred responsibility entrusted to us by God to uplift humanity. What we learn is not meant to stop with us. Our gifts, our knowledge, and our opportunities become meaningful when we use them in service to others.
Standing at that podium, I wasn’t just thinking about how far I’ve come. I was thinking about the responsibility that comes with being given an opportunity to stand, speak, lead, and pour into the brothers coming behind me.
To the Class of 2030: may you never measure your Morehouse education only by the degree you receive, but by the lives you change because you received it.
Welcome to the House.
