“Dreaming in Color”, Acrylic on Canvas, 16” x 20”
Recently, I dreamed of a squat, cartoonish grasshopper with a roundish face, staring back at me. I wondered if it was going to fly up toward me. It didn’t. However, its distinct presence has stayed with me. While working on this painting, a glimmer of that dream returned, and the feeling-tone of the memory emerged as I worked. More and more I’m exploring color intuitively while allowing the painting to unfold organically.
