I almost didn’t write this one.

The day got away from me, Shep finally fell asleep late, and I was very tempted to let my Tuesday post become a Wednesday post.

Instead I wrote about repetition, which, in retrospect, feels pretty fitting.

This is about the maintenance work that fills our days without leaving much evidence behind. It’s about doing things over and over even when we’re not particularly inspired, and about what becomes visible when we stick with something long enough to recognize its patterns.

A Letter On Repetition is up on Substack, link in my story + bio!

Every Tuesday, I write a letter exploring something I’ve been noticing, questioning, or learning lately. Hope to see you over there 🤍

I often think about repetition. When emptying the dishwasher or making the bed. Rather mundane. And then I think I am so thankful for the repetition of my heart beating and my lungs breathing. Some things just need to be done over and over and over again.
