I was so incredibly proud to walk my campus again tonight. The Memorial to Enslaved Persons, reinterpretation of the Baylor and Burleson statues, and representation of the first Black Baylor graduates at Tidwell, where I spent the majority of my time as a history major, speak to the value there is in repentance and reconciliation, as well as the power of historical accuracy. I’m proud to see her grow, and I’m grateful for all those whose knowledge, dedication, and care made this possible. She’s just as beautiful as I remember. 💚💛
