Part 1: As I was applying to dental schools, I prayed and told God that I didn't want to start this journey in doubt by applying to a bunch of schools that I didn't want to go to out of the fear of not getting in. If I was going to trust God for this, I truly had to trust Him all the way.

To someone reviewing my application, my application was average. I scored a 20AA on my DAT, had a C on my transcript, and only worked in a specialty rather than general dentistry. Knowing all of this, I only applied to 4 dental schools. My confidence wasn't in myself but in God. My God who carried me through this journey and seen me through many obstacles.

To God be the glory, I was called for 2 interviews. On 12/15/25, I received an acceptance into the UPitt Dental. This was a huge testament of God's faithfulness, how I knew He would help me. Good place to end the testimony, right? Wellllll, on 1/5/26, I received an email stating that because I had accepted my seat too late, I was now placed on a deferred list meaning I no longer had a seat in the class of 2030.

I remember finding out at work and dropping to my knees in the break room. Funny, not funny, my church had started their 21 days of prayer and fasting and I asked God what my focus should be, then BOOM. It literally felt like a punch in the gut.

Part 2: This same day, I wrote a prayer to God. I knew my testimony could not end with me being deferred. It was time to practice the faith that we learn about over and over again. A time to remember what God has done and how He is faithful. How He will always bring a good work that He started into completion. In faith, I wrote a line in my journal for the future date that I would receive my seat back into dental school.

I was ready to fight this fight with faith. I started off strong yk, the prayer for that seat to open up was fervent. As time started passing, I was getting congratulated by peers for an acceptance I no longer had. My mom was making plans to go apartment shopping in a city that I wasn't sure that I would actually step foot in again. The fight was getting harder to fight y'all. I started to feel like a fraud, that I was lying to ppl and to myself. I remembe
