And just like that, the best summer we’ve quite literally ever had has come to an end.

Maybe it’s their ages. Maybe it’s our group of friends (who are really just family). Maybe it’s that I’m basically a 12-year-old at heart. But hell, this summer was one for the books.

I can’t say I’ll miss the wet towel pileups, the late nights, the endless snacks, the 28k-step days at Hersheypark, the constant flow of smelly laundry, the bickering, the midday “he’s exhausted” naps, the 10 a.m. wake-ups, the amount of money we spent at Hangry Bear, or the days when we genuinely had no idea what day it was…

But I also can’t say I won’t miss it.

Mom is my favorite title.
These boys are my favorite souls.
And this life we’ve (re)built is my absolute favorite.
