One year, two expeditions, and a lot of ups and downs before finally reaching the summit of Jannu East with Nicolas Jean! Looking back, I realize how much this adventure has meant to me. Not just reaching the summit, but everything we went through to get there, and especially the way we climbed this incredible mountain. One year later, I can still feel the excitement of those days up there. Some memories really stay with you :) ——- 🇫🇷 Il nous a fallu un an et deux expéditions pour réussir le Jannu Est. Deux expéditions pendant lesquelles nous avons dû tordre nos esprits pour résister à une météo capricieuse, à des moments difficiles, des renoncements, à devoir s’entraîner et innover pour trouver la recette magique nous permettant de grimper cet immense versant. Le 15 octobre 2025, on était là-haut à contempler non loin de nous le premier sommet himalayen que j’avais gravi en 2017, le Pandra, depuis lequel ce rêve est né. Prendre de la hauteur, pour se rendre compte du chemin parcouru. Un tel projet commencé à trois avec @leo_billon_ et fini à deux avec @nicolasjean_alpi . Mais sans notre expérience aux côtés de Léo en 2024, je ne pense pas que nous aurions pu réaliser une ascension aussi alignée avec nos valeurs : efficience, légèreté, rapidité. Le sommet est important mais la manière d’y arriver l’est tout autant, sinon plus. Je garde un souvenir vraiment puissant de ce Jannu Est. Il a considérablement nourri mon appétit féroce de grandes faces sur des grandes montagnes où l’oxygène se fait rare. Il a d’une certaine manière apaisé cette quête-là. La montagne me forge, et m’invite à chaque étape à donner un nouveau cap, un nouvel horizon. Et parfois, souvent même, je repense à ces placages sans fin dans lequels notre cordée etait unie a 200%, à cette arête labyrinthe où j’ai bien cru ne pas y arriver, à nos bivouacs perchés où le rêve s’entremêlait avec la réalité et les doutes.
