Dance Spirit Magazine

We talk a lot about the work dancers put in. What about the time they spend resting?

Rest is just as important as training, but it’s something we don’t always talk about. For professional dancers, a day off is about more than simply taking a break from dancing. It’s a chance to recharge both mentally and physically, take care of their bodies, and spend time doing the things they love. Since everyone recharges differently, rest can look different for every dancer.

With Rest Day Diaries, we’re getting a look at how professional dancers spend their days off and make time to rest, reset, and recharge.

First up in Part 1, Maycee Steele is taking us along for her day off on tour. Take a look at how this professional commercial dancer spends her downtime on the road. 💖✨
