🥏 FRISBEE 3.0: 9 Girls. 9 Boys. Two Teams. One Game. One Champion! 🥏

On Monday, 24 August 2026, the energy was high as 18 teenagers came together for Frisbee Tournament 3.0, this time playing as 2 co-ed teams under the guidance of coach Lanre and coach Lauretta.

From fast throws to close plays and plenty of cheering, the children brought their enthusiasm, competitiveness and team spirit to the field. 💪🏽

We were also excited to have members of the Ultimate Frisbee Club in attendance, cheering the participants on and celebrating their progress. Their continued encouragement has helped make Frisbee more than just a game for these children, it has become a space to build confidence, friendships, teamwork and new skills.

What started as a recreational activity in 2025 has grown into something the children genuinely look forward to. And watching them play, compete and cheer one another on reminds us that every child deserves opportunities to discover what they can do.

Here’s to more games, more laughter, more confidence and many more moments on the field! 🥏❤️

Frisbee 3.0 — and we’re just getting started!

Watch out for Frisbee Tournament 4.0 in December 2026.

In 2016, I took home a dog named Isis. She was a pit bull being given away on the street by a guy who said he’d been breeding her at his grandmother’s house and needed to get rid of her now that she’d had puppies. I had no idea how to raise a dog. I was broke, pretty aimless, and living in a three-bedroom apartment with four roommates. She was depressed because her puppies had been taken away too early, and she was terrified of other dogs, presumably because she’d been abused. On top of all that, she was named Isis, a sworn enemy of the United States. Before adopting her, I’d never really had to take care of anyone but myself. I was in my 20s, single, and probably pretty selfish. She was the first living thing I’d ever been responsible for, and having her changed my life. We grew up together in a way, and we had a really great life. For the last ten years, every time id arrive home, no matter how shitty a mood I was in, she’d lift her head and look at me with pure joy. It was such a simple thing, but it made me happier every single time. I’m going to miss that more than I can explain. One of the best things about dogs is how much they seem to enjoy being alive. They get so much happiness out of the smallest things, and they share that happiness with you. And when you see that joy start to disappear, it’s heartbreaking. I guess that’s why those commercials are so sad. In March of this year, Icey was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disorder that almost killed her. She spent a long time in the animal hospital, and when I brought her back for a follow-up appointment, some of the staff started crying when they saw how much better she was doing. They’d all worked so hard to save her, and it was incredibly moving to see how much they cared about her. At one point, I asked her neurologist, “Medically speaking, I’d like you to be brutally honest, she is the best dog, right?” “She really is the best dog” yesterday we spent our last day together. I made her a steak and we went to the park. I honestly don’t want to her to go, but I know it’s her time. She was the best dog

20-yr-old Nigerian boy sh%t de@d just days to his birthday in Boston, USA A Nigerian parent, Nneka Alao, has been thrown into mourning after her 20-year-old son, Darell Alao, was fatally sh%t in Boston, United States, on October 7, 2026, just a few days to his 21st birthday on October 27. According to the Boston Police Department, officers responded to reports of a sh%oting at about 5:09 p.m. on October 7 at 1171 Hyde Park Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Darell suffering from a g¥nshot wound. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced d+ad. Police subsequently arrested 18-year-old Christian Peebles of Boston on October 9 in connection with the k+lling. He was charged with m¥rder. In another twist, his grieving dad, who lives in Nigeria, has been denied a visa to travel to the United States for his burial later this month on November 20, 2026. An appeal has now been launched by friends and family to the U.S government to look into the matter and assist with his visa so that he can be able participate in the final rites.
